Volo11 is part of a series of videos that, together with some installations, photographs and actions, gave life to the Colombaia project.
The work is a work in progress conceived to put spaces in communication, through the involvement of traveling pigeons. The project originated in 2010 for the Montevergini Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Syracuse, and was then developed in different regions of Italy. The Lombard stage was hosted in 2013 in the Marselleria spaces in Milan. The video was made through a micro-camera fastened on the chest of a traveling dove, and traces the return journey of the bird, from the launch area in the center of Milan to the mother dovecote, located on the outskirts of Settimo Milanese.
