Bees are natural bioindicators of air quality: through the analysis of honey they provide important data on the assessment of atmospheric pollution. Furthermore, with their important pollination work they guarantee the survival of a large number of plant species and, consequently, the production of oxygen.
The activities of pollinators are investigated through a sound reading key. Sound is a means that allows us to perceive the dynamics of a landscape invisible to us since it contains information that escapes visual perception. The sounds recorded are the various activities of the honey bee. The sound experimentation starts from these recordings trying to highlight the hidden tones and extracting moments unknown to us, perhaps even of more musical derivations. All sounds are always derived from the original recordings. The final trace, precisely in highlighting these invisible relationships, wants to suggest that we too are in a relationship of dynamic collaborations: without this network of relationships, even the basic activity of survival, breathing, would be impossible.
